The contract
01 Scope.
These terms govern the sale of Dirtbag Studio products to consumers, meaning people buying outside a trade or profession. They complement the terms of use, which govern the site itself. Where the two overlap on a question about a purchase, these terms take precedence. Nothing here removes a right that Dutch or EU consumer law gives you.
02 What you are buying.
A Dirtbag Studio is manufactured hardware: the board, the sewn planting pocket and its mounting hardware, made to a specification. It does not include soil or a plant. What you grow in it, and how it looks over time, is yours: a living wall that changes is the point of the product and not a fault in it.
03 Prices and tax.
Prices are in euros and include VAT where it applies. The delivery cost is shown before you confirm, never added afterwards. Orders shipped outside the EU may attract import duty and local tax on arrival, which is yours to pay; we cannot calculate or absorb it. A price is fixed at the moment we confirm your order, so a later change does not affect an order already placed.
04 Placing an order.
Adding to the bag and paying is an offer to buy. The contract exists when we send the order confirmation email, not before. We may decline an order: a format that has sold out, an address a courier cannot reach, or a payment our processor flags. If we decline, we say why and refund in full.
05 Payment.
Card details are entered into a Stripe field on our checkout page and go straight to Stripe. Your card number is never seen, transmitted or stored by a Dirtbag Studio server; we receive a payment reference, the amount, the currency and the last four digits. We charge when the order is confirmed. If the payment fails, is reversed or is later charged back, the contract ends and we stop the shipment where we still can.
06 Delivery.
Delivery times by region are on the shipping page and are estimates, not guarantees; a courier delay is not a breach of this contract, though we will chase it with you. Risk passes to you on delivery. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, photograph it before unpacking further and write to us within fourteen days.
07 If something is missing or late.
Tell us. If we have not delivered within thirty days of the confirmation, or within any later date we agreed with you, you can give us a reasonable further period and cancel for a full refund if we miss that too. If a delivery date was essential and you told us so, you can cancel straight away.
08 Your right to withdraw.
As a consumer in the EU or the UK you have fourteen days to change your mind, no reason required. The period runs from the day you, or someone you name, take physical possession of the last item in the order. Tell us in any clear statement, an email is enough, then send the goods back within fourteen days of telling us. We refund everything you paid, including the standard delivery charge, within fourteen days of the goods reaching us or of your proof of postage, whichever comes first. The law lets a seller ask you to pay the return postage: we do not, the label is on us either way.
09 Our 60-day return.
Beyond the statutory fourteen days, we give you sixty from delivery to return a canvas for a full refund. Free pre-paid label, no restocking fee, no reason needed, and the refund goes to your original payment method within 72 hours of the parcel reaching us. The procedure, and the three things worth knowing before you buy, are on the returns page. A gift card is the one thing that cannot be refunded to cash. This is a promise we make on top of the law, never a replacement for it: if the two ever conflict, you get whichever is better for you.
10 Conformity and warranty.
Everything we sell must match its description and be fit for its purpose. That is a legal guarantee under Dutch and EU consumer law, it costs you nothing to rely on, and it lasts as long as you could reasonably expect the goods to last rather than for a fixed number of years. The canvas ships as hardware, so there is no live plant in the parcel and nothing to arrive dead. If a part is missing or fails, one photograph starts a claim: we reply within one working day and send the replacement within five, at no cost to you, as set out on the warranty page. The legal guarantee is the guarantee, and it has no expiry date we can shorten.
11 When it is our fault.
If we sell you something faulty or get an order wrong, we fix it: repair, replacement, or a refund, and we pay the postage in both directions. We are not liable for damage caused by ignoring the mounting instructions, fixing a canvas to a surface it was not rated for, or overwatering. Nothing in this contract limits our liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Two ways to send it back
One comes from the law, one comes from us. You never have to choose the worse of the two, and you do not have to know which you are using: tell us you want to return it and we apply whichever suits you.

Governing law.
This contract is governed by the law of the Netherlands . If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your own courts. Nothing in this clause changes that.
Complaints and disputes.
Write to us first: almost everything ends there, usually the same day. Send the order number and what went wrong to hello@dirtbagstudio.com. If we cannot settle it between us, you can take the matter to the consumer protection authority where you live, or to the courts. We will not make you go quiet about it as a condition of a refund.
